Its glossy, oval, dark green leaves turn bronze in autumn. It is mostly grown for its dense habit and clusters of mildly fragrant, white to pale pink, bell shaped flowers that bloom continuously from May to September. Abelia x grandiflora thrives in full sun, but since it is not full hardy, it needs a sheltered position. This
