Morgon 'Cote du Py', Domaine de la Chaponne 2022 Grape variety_Touriga Franca soft plum fruit with aThis family owned domaine is run by Laurent (a star of the region) and Laurence Guillet, making almost entirely Morgon along with a little Chiroubles (the La Forge, available here). From 50 60 year old vines grown on firm, stony soils in the renowned hillside parcel of the Cote du Py, the wine is fragrant, full of ripe soft cherry fruit, delicious when young but without enough depth and structure (aided by eight months ageing in vats and oak foudres)
