Edge: Engrailed. Extra Fine with some remaining lustre. Struck for general circulation and designed by Wyon. The symbols on the reverse represent trade, peace, and plenty. As well as being a noted scientist, Newton was also Warden of the Royal Mint until his death in 1727. He is buried in Westminster Abbey.
