Its a medium sized, vigorous, deciduous shrub with an upright, open habit and narrowly ovate, dark green leaves, turning yellow with purple tinges in autumn. Masses of bright yellow, four petal flowers bloom in late winter and early spring, before the leaves emerge, covering the whole shrub and brightening the landscape.
